Winter in the Rockies

If you have ever spent a crisp winters morning in Alberta, than you've surely seen the spectacle that is the Rocky mountains. 

This glass reminds me of when the sun hasn't quite peaked over the horizon and the sky is filled with indigo, violet, magenta, lemon and burnt orange. The colour streaks across the sky, picking its way across until you turn west and your breath is stolen with a 360 degree sunrise. In the crisp air, the mountains take on the reflection of colour and light up in hues of varying purples and pinks, their snow dipped peaks just visible under the warm tones. 

This stunning view only lasts for a minute or two before the sun inches over the horizon to steal back its colour, but in those split seconds, it is unforgettable. With the warm colours returning to the east, the mountains reclaim their cool blues and pearl undertones, striking in their cold appearance. 

Two different sides to this glass show the beauty in the mountains ability to also change colour depending on the light. While summer mountains are stunning, there is nothing like a still winter morning, gazing at the Rocky Mountains.
